24:365

This is outside the office where I work, and it kept catching my eye a few days in a row, so I brought my camera finally.

23:365

Here's the 2nd of the images form that night. I like the first one best, but I enjoy this one as well.

22:365

I actually forgot to take a photo on the 22nd, so on the 23rd I took 2 images of the same scene. Here's the first.

21:365

I find this beautiful.

20:365

Bedtime. I love this time of day. The in-between of awake and sleep. It's quiet, dark, peaceful. Yes, I find the tv on at night peaceful. Something from my childhood ingrained in me.

19:365

I saw this as I woke up this morning, and fell in love.

18:365

I saw this as I was leaving work, and it reminds me of 1940.

17:365

We had freezing fog the other day, and had I known how absolutely gorgeous it would make the world, I would have gotten up earlier to photograph more of it.

16:365

This reminds me of film. Oh how I miss film, and the darkroom.

15:365

This image reminds me of spring in a 1920's bungalow. Don't know why.

14:365

I have one of my favorite paintings hanging above my bed. I really like the details of the paintbrush strokes.

13:365

This winter has been really cold, and I have not been a fan, however on this day, we had a heat wave! It was about 20 degrees out and so I felt motivated to go outside when I saw the sunset. Enjoy!

12:365

I had laid down for a nap to ease a miserable headache, and when I woke up, this was what I saw, and I felt so calm.

11:365

This image feels like the moment between when you breath in, then breath out. I love it.

10:365

I love how dirty this image feels.

9:365

The day before this shot was the first time my being moved to photograph an outdoor scene outweighed my hatred of the cold in quite some time. So I took the camera out with me on this so as to not miss another opportunity, and I'm so glad I did.

8:365

I enjoy the movement in this image, as it perfectly exposes my home, it's like an earthquake everyday! I only took 3 photos in this series, as I just was NOT in the mood to photograph. Rather, I did not have the patience. (side note-I'm not a fan of flash, I try my best to use avail light as much as possible, so when I talk of patience, I'm referring to the patience to either set up a tripod, or take my slow time getting the shot so it isn't blurry)

So this image is both a reflection of my home, but more so, a reflection of me!

7:365

It's been a challenge for me to get into the flow of taking a photograph a day. The challenge has been in that I'm not one to photograph my personal spaces, or those whom I'm close to, however I despise the cold! So this has limited my available subjects. I'm enjoying the challenge though, as it is forcing me out of my comfort zone.

On this evening, we had a snow storm, and next to no food in the house, so I tried an experiment with what very few things I did have, and attempted to make Pizza Bread. This image definitely reflects the hurriedness I felt, as it's not in focus! I didn't have the patience, I was cold and hungry!

(oh, and it turned out TERRIBLE!!!) :D

6:365

I have 2 cats, and one thing I love, is in the morning, the second they hear me get up, they run to the bathroom and wait for me to come in and turn on the faucet. It's one of the moments of my day that I look forward to.

5:365

When I walked in the room on this day, I just felt compelled to photograph the scene.

4:365

Well snap, it's been quite a week, and I have a bit of updating to do!! I am finding, with the short days and cold weather, that it's not until 8 or so at night that I'm remembering to take my photo of the day!

I love walking into my bedroom at night when I'm going to bed, I just love the beckoning of the scene, so on this evening, as I walked into my bedroom so looking forward to going to bed, I realized I had yet to take my photo for the day! So I thought, what a perfect thing to photograph.

My boyfriend is from the Dominican Republic, and he loves plantains. He cooks them a LOT and I have yet to find the appeal, but I do find it interesting his preparation.

2:365

For the past 2 weeks or so I've been renting a lens called the LensBaby. I've had a lot of fun with it, so of course I had to find ways to use it for my 365 project. I took this photo last night, and of the photos I took, I just kept coming back to this one. Enjoy.

Announcement! I'm starting a project. For the next year, I'm going to take a photo a day. Looking ahead, I know this is going to be a challenge for me. There will be times when the last thing I feel like doing is picking up the camera, times I feel uninspired and times when I'll want to just chuck the whole project into the dumpster. For those exact reasons I decided this was something I wanted to do. Push myself. So, while I will not necessarily post a photo every day, I will shoot every day, and post regularly. I hope you'll join me on this adventure, and please, feel free to comment as you wish!

Without further ado, numero Uno to start the year off!
