Pardon!

I have completely fallen off the 365 Project wagon. No bueno. I do have a few photos to add, which I will do in the next day or two, but starting yesterday I am jumping back on the wagon. Between the misery of this winter, my being sick, then going on vacation, I just had zero, and I mean Z.E.R.O. motivation to photograph.

So, my apologies, but life goes on. :)

Ok, you ready? Follow along. Many times through out college I ran into people working on self portrait projects. A few times I was required to do self portraits for assignments, and I never quite understood it. Rather, I understood, but it made me uncomfortable. (that's a little bit o' background for ya!) So, in January a friend of mine from college(and amazing photographer) Liz Lantz got married. The other day she sent me a link to the photographer who took her photos(also a Columbia lady) Stephanie Dana. Scrolling through her site I noticed she has a lot of self portrait work, and not just self portrait work, but great, interesting self portrait work.

From her site I was led to another photographer who's work I really enjoy, but hadn't checked in on in a few months, Sarah Rhoads. Stephanie had submitted a beautiful self portrait to a new project that Sarah had started called, The Self Portrait Project.

Between Stephanie's work and Sarah's project, I was inspired to incorporate Self Portraits into my 365 Project. SO...without further ado, my first self portrait. Enjoy!

Now that the days are *finally* getting longer again, I've been seeing this reflection as I leave work at night. I finally had to capture it.

St. Augustine, cont.

I only shared a small bit of my fave photos from my trip to St. Augustine last November, so here are a few more! These are from our strolls through the back streets of this beautiful city.

This morning it was absolutely stunning outside. I find that the morning after a snow storm is almost always a beautiful time.

We had a snow storm. And used that excuse to not leave the house all day. It picked up after nightfall, and I love watching the snow in the light.

I love that Owl. (I have a thing for Owls...) And I love my new Fuji Instax Camera.

My 365 Project

Alright, 1 month down of my 365 Project. Hmm. I decided to tackle this project for many reasons. To challenge myself and to find myself, photographically speaking, among others. So, 1 month in, how's it going? ARG. I cannot lie, there have been at least 7 days I've forgotten to take photos. Well, forgotten or.... by the time I realized was too tired to find something that would grab my eye.

Have I had ANY inkling about myself, photographically? Hell's No! I had thought that by doing this project I would feel less bothered by my lack of direction in my personal photography. I have found, thus far though, that not to be the case. And I have excuses. Excuses as to why I'm not more inspired to photograph, but really it comes down to I haven't found my 'thing'. You know, that one topic/location/subject/issue/color you name it that lights my fire.

I really want that fire lit. But I'm going to keep on keepin on, in the hopes that something will start to come together.

In the meantime however, I'm thinking that maybe I should force upon myself subjects. Maybe a weekly focus, or a monthly focus. It's a thought process I'm working on.

What techniques/ideas etc. have you found to work for you to get out of a creative rut?

38:365

Mother Nature fascinates me.

36:365

I find it interesting how snow just grabs on to areas and chooses to stay awhile.

35:365

I love that the grass is still green.

34:365

I have many scarves. I don't wear them though. I especially love hanging them about my mirror. Odd?

33:365

This made me happy.

32:365

This was fun. A lot of fun.

31:365

I was so sick this day. I saw this opportunity, knew I'd have zero energy later to attempt a photo, so I took it. It's not bad.

30:365

I love the way light bounces off of surfaces. Especially the mid day sun.

29:365

I find I'm drawn to lines.

28:365

Can you hear the stillness? I can.

27:365

.Smile.

26:365

I was cooking dinner and this called to me to photograph it. Dinner was pretty tasty too!

25:365

I love the the ground. It's so gritty and imperfectly perfect to me.
